The Ardent™, a fresh take and Vader's Vault spin on traditional design themes. Our first true "Thin Neck" Combat Class saber, we took extra care that while giving the look, balance and feel of the thin neck, we didn't sacrifice the duel worthy durability of the Combat Class. Meant for the active saberist, this saber is balanced and comfortable, melding with the wielder's hand like it was meant for them since birth. The emitter is packed with detail, from the elegant rounded rings at the crown, to the 4 sets of light emitting 'gill slits' in the center. The engraved detail around the switch area offers an asymmetrical catch for the eye. Just enough to give the area some contrast. The other side offers the chance to add extra flair with an optional SMD LED bargraph or OLED screen, and different frame metals as well. The middle v-grooved grip provides a non-slip surface in a traditional fashion. The rear, vertically milled 'booster' section offers an off-set look to the v-grooved grip. The pommel stands out as a very familiar power cell design with raised cubes, but in a non obtrusive, unique placement, complete with wide sound vents for great volume and resonance control. This entire saber screams elegance, and power. Get yours today!

Beautiful saber! The new cs4 is amazing!! I ordered this without weathering as I like the polished mirror look. I had VV add 3 more fonts to my saber so it arrives with 6 fonts. Can't wait to ordered my second VV because u can't just have one.

Let me start out by saying that I rarely, and I mean RARELY, write reviews for products, services, etc. I can count the number of reviews I've ever written over the years on 1 hand. This alone should speak to my experience and satisfaction with Vader's Vault. But, I'm not a very concise person either so I'm about to write a short book to further convey those things.

I first found out about the custom saber community when a friend mentioned an ad they saw on Facebook for one of Vader's Vaults competitors. As is my habit, I started to research these custom sabers, the several companies making them (large and small), and many other facets extensively. After this was all done I had no doubt in my mind that IF I did spend my money on a saber (I'm not a rich guy by any means) that it would definitely be from Vader's Vault. I through the idea around for months, trying to talk myself out of it, until one day I had a moment of frivolty and bought one. I don't regret it one bit, in fact I am rejoicing!

I ordered an Ardent with a dedicated green suncrusher and fairly minimal options/customizations otherwise (silver button w/ green light-ring around it, covertech wheel). I would have went bigger and requested more unique custom features but could not afford to. Not that this was necessary at all; even a plain Ardent is a thing of absolute beauty, just as every other saber I've seen from Vader's Vault. The hilt is perfectly machined with absolutely no rough spots at all, nor any errors in spacing, patterns, etc. I cannot find a single fault and fault-finding is my specialty. The soundcard (Crystal Shard 3.0) and speaker are very powerful and deliver sound fidelity true to the films (there are 3 included "sound fonts" and 2 of them remind me very, very much of lightsabers in the films, specifically Luke's in ROTJ and Vader's in TESB and ROTJ). I use Luke's as it fits for my green saber, however, if I had gotten the color-changing RGB option it would be a moment of pure joy and amazement to ignite a red blade to the sound of the Vader-like sound font. It's spot on.

When I ignited this saber for the first time, even though I've seen all the movies fairly recently and upteen times each as an adult, I was transported to my childhood and felt like a kid again. The amazement with the saber and it's technology, the believability of the incredibly bright blade, mixed with the nostalgia factor, was almost too much (but in a good way). I regret nothing about this purchase and would gladly buy more from Vader's Vault if I could. Maybe someday again.

Speaking of them... I had a few questions for them before and after my purchase. I found a community page on Facebook where Vader's Vault has a great reputation and strong presence. Then I got the idea to try asking them on there instead of calling. Deanna answered all my questions fully within minutes after hours and, on one occasion, on a Sunday evening (which is probably the last time I'd want to deal with customer questions if I was running any business).

Lastly, I mentioned in the title that I received my saber earlier than expected... I was told, and community discussion confirms, that it is not uncommon that Vader's Vault sabers can take 26-32 weeks to arrive and in some cases even longer. Well, Deanna also said that they were working on cutting down those wait times when I spoke to her. I wanted to believe that but decided not to get my hopes up too much; I decided to wait it out patiently, thinking to myself that the longer I wait the more exciting it will be when I finally get it. Not at all! Believe me, I was as excited as I can get when I received a shipping confirmation notice after just 13 weeks after the order and received the saber 2 days later.

100% satisfied customer here. Thanks to everybody at Vader's Vault, especially Deanna for fielding all my questions at ungodly hours. My best to you guys!

  • Definitely worth the wait!

My very first experience has been the best. And not going to lie, so was the waiting. My order was a back order of a back order so I knew that I had a while. But once it came it was that much more gratifying to receive! The Saber and all of it's components came in perfect conduction. It sounds wonderful and has an easy to use interface. For both adding sounds and changing through them in mid duel. If you need quality looking saber and pay for what you get, VV is the place for you!
