What is the Photon Blade™? Several months ago a gentleman on the forums came out of nowhere to showcase his experiments with photo-reactive material, in his case, acrylic blades, and how they amplify and alter wavelengths. Basically, it works like a diode laser, taking in one wavelength of light, exciting the photons in the lasing medium then emitting a whole new, brighter wavelength of light. In this case, the first color that was a success was the Photon Green. We worked closely with Tim at TCSS and took what we learned from Mr. Lee's experiments with acrylic and applied it to Poly Carbonate extrusions. It took some work, but the results were mind blowing. It has limits: You have to like green blades.

The Photon Blade™ takes a Blue LED and uses that wavelength of light to excite the photons in the dye which converts the color to a super bright, eerie "Rakghoul" green. Regular, or light blue works the best, but any blue will give the effect. It has a unique aura and corona that I've never seen in a lightsaber blade. It is truly unique and will stand out among other green blades. Depending on your set up, it will also be visible in direct sunlight. The UV rays in sunlight actually help amplify this effect and combine with the blade light. Will it look as impressive as it does under normal indoor lighting? No, but you can tell the whole blade is glowing, and you can even see the flicker and Flash on Clash effects. What does all this mean? It means that with the lighting tech we ALREADY have, you can have the brightest green blade in a production saber just by using this blade. There is about a 30% increase in brightness just from changing the blade on our normal RGB Suncrusher LED. Not only that, but it will look different than any other green saber you own or have seen.

Here are some pics though keep in mind, the camera doesn't quite pick up on the unique 'glow' these blades have and the video camera HATED it and was constantly compensating for the brightness increase when I would turn it on. There are two outside shots, one in the full sun, the second in some slight shade.

*NOTE: We do NOT glue our blade diffusion film to the blade. Please be careful when removing the dust cap, and when removing the blade from your saber not to allow the film to fall out. When we first entered this industry, we had noticed several of our competitors glued the film into their blades and had creasing/krinkling of the film right at the point where the blade flexes the most. Saber blades flex, even when just swinging or spinning around. If you keep the film stationary and the blade flexes, the film will crease. Not gluing the film in allows the film to spiral in on itself and flex with the blade. When we developed our blades, we chose not to glue our film in and it turned out that the film will last much longer without creasing. After many hundreds of blades, we can say that this method allows for a long lasting, even blade. We have blades in the house that have seen years of use with no creasing. The only thing is, you have to take care when removing the blade not to let the film drop out and use your included dust cap to keep dust out, and the film in.

VV Photon Blade brought new life to a friend's Lightsaber!

Friend of mine has been lamenting over his purchase of a Lightsaber by a certain mass production saber company after seeing a RGB VV blade.
His main complaints were the lack of flash on clash and the single blue color; due to recent health issues and just graduating college, buying another saber anytime soon wasn't possible so I thought I'd give him this as a graduation present. He was absolutely floored!

I ordered the heavy duty blade due to the normal blade being out of stock at the time, but the heavy duty photon blade is still brighter than his "mid-grade" blade. Turns out his heavier u!+$@saber pommel offsets the extra weight of the heavy blade, so the balance is better than his original blade! We did a quick pitch black test and WOW that sucker is bright.

So in short, the heavy grade photon blade is noticeably brighter than either the normal polycarbonate VV blade or a certain other company's mid-blade, so I can only imagine how bright the normal blade is. He was so impressed with the quality that his next purchase will be from VV.

I was really happy to receive my photon blade from Vader Vault within 8 days. That was real quick shipping after I had ordered the blade on their site.

I had heard rave reviews about the blade and wanted to check out what the hype was all about. To test it out. I had bought a Guradian Blue Tri-Cree blue setup. With fully charged batteries waiting to try this out.

The Blade came I used it on my setup and man, it was blindingly bright, the green shown thru in a fully lit room. I was blown away by it.

I took it inside a dark room and the effect was amplified even further, the entire room became green, that toxic green that you see in the movies.

To top all that , there was this greenish subtle aura around the blade. Giving a ghostly outline aura around the lighted blade. You have to see it to believe it. Truly a marvelous sight to behold.

The above effects were in full battery power.

In lower or weak battery setups, the blade to my surprise was very every beautiful this is why:

- It still looks bright. This blade has the ability of giving out the best possible light, even on weaker batteries. I even think it amplifies the light.

- Also in weaker battery mode, it becomes easier to stare at it, and I could see a subtle blue-green inner core surrounded by the toxic green out edge of the blade. The ghostly aura was still present around the blade.

- This my friends is one of those blades, that looks great more graceful even when the batteries run out on the saber. It changes character but looks really beautiful.

- Even in low power and in a fully lighted room, the Photon Blades glow is still visible. distinctly. it never looks washed out at all. The sun for now on a really birth day might be the only rival for this blade, at the moment.

- Lots of love and care went into making this blade, it takes time to appreciate and really understand this blade.

- I used the blade from other companies . Their blade are good, but not as bright even in high power setups as the Photon Blade. In low power more they all look washed out and get overpowered by the environmental light.

-Photon blade is totally totally worth it. It is like fine wine that only get s better with age and usage. You will learn more and more about this blades details as use enjoy it.

Nothing short of amazing.
The blade is the brightest blade I have seen.
Completely lights up from bottom to the tip, evenly distributed

Being able to have a Blue led, then just put a Photon Blade on and BAM!! Ridiculously bright Green blade. Also works as a cool day blade. A perfect choice for an RGB to get your green brighter. Clever innovation at a Good price.

P.S. Don't let 10 year olds use it!! They attack concrete!! But it came out of that in good shape.
